After graduating from LJHS I attended San Diego State, majoring in Sociology and Psychology. I married my long time high school sweetheart, Alan (Mission Bay class of 1963), in 1967. He also attended San Diego State where he received his teaching credential.
After graduating from SDSU I worked for the County of San Diego as a Probation Officer, and was able to retire as a supervisor in 2003. After seven years of teaching Industrial Arts in High School, Alan decided that his calling was elsewhere and quit to become a commercial fisherman. His industrial arts skills did not go to waste however, as he built twelve commercial fishing boats! He has retired as well.
In 1974 our daughter, Amber, was born and she graduated from LJHS in 1992. She played volleyball for the Vikings and received a volleyball scholarship from the University of San Francisco. She resides in San Diego with her husband, Patrick, and our three grandchildren, Makayla (13), Kaitlyn (10) and Cole (4).
We continue to reside in the north Pacific Beach home that we purchased in 1973. We enjoy traveling, biking, sailing, camping, hiking, backpacking, and also enjoy working out at the gym……which helps us to stay in shape for the hiking and backpacking!!! We also enjoy spending time with the grandchildren and watching the girls continue with the volleyball tradition!
